Huawei Maimang 6 Smartphone Goes Official 18:9 Display & Four Cameras

Earlier this week, we came to know about the key specifications of the Huawei Mate 10 Lite smartphone which will be officially launched on October 16th. Today, the company has unveiled the Huawei Maimang 6 Smartphone today in China. The initial leaks suggested it to be launched as Huawei G10 in the international markets, but Evan Blass mentioned it to be the same Mate 10 Lite that will go official next month in the international markets. The Huawei Maimang 6 looks exactly same as leaked Mate 10 Lite and even feature the same specifications.

The smartphone comes with unibody metal design and will be available in Gold and Black color options. It is the first Huawei smartphone to come with an 18:9 display. The Maimang 6 sports a 5.9-inch IPS display with Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution. It is powered by the Kirin 659 octa-core processor clocked at 2.36GHz and comes coupled with Mali T830 MP2 GPU and 4GB of RAM. This is the same chipset that was earlier used in the Nova 2 & Nova 2 Plus smartphones. There is 64GB of internal storage and comes with a MicroSD card slot for further expanding up to 256GB.

While the Mate 10 Lite is said to come with Android 8.0 Oreo, the Maimang 6 runs on the in-house EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. In terms of optics, the device comes with dual cameras on the front and rear. In the first half of 2017, Gionee launched the Gionee S10 smartphone with the four camera sensors. There is a 16MP + 2MP dual camera setup with autofocus on the rear and a 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup with fixed focus on the front. Both the front and rear cameras come with LED flash. The Maimang 6 measuring 156.2 × 75.2 × 7.5 mm and weighs 164 grams.

It is backed by a 3,340mAh non-removable battery and also includes SuperCharge fast charging technology. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear of the device also mobile payments using Huawei Pay. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, A-GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. Coming to the pricing, the Huawei Maimang 6 with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage costs 2399 Yuan. The smartphone will go on sale by the end of this month only in China.
