Lenovo K8 Launched with Helio P20 SoC & 3GB RAM for Rs. 10,499

After launching the Lenovo K8 Note and K8 Plus, Lenovo today announced a new smartphone in the K-series called as Lenovo K8. Though it comes in a smaller form factor, the design of the device looks similar to the previously launched K8 Note and K8 Plus smartphones. The Lenovo K8 is priced at Rs. 10,499 and misses the dual rear camera setup as seen on the other two devices. It comes with a unibody metal design and sports a dedicated Music Key for directly controlling the music player.

It will be available in Venom Black and Fine Gold color options and is sold through offline stores across the country. The smartphone sports a 5.2-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and a 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood is the 64-bit MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz. It comes coupled with Mali-T880 MP2 GPU and 3GB RAM. There is 32GB of internal storage that can be further expandable up to 128GB.

In the camera department, there is a 13MP single camera with PDAF and an 8MP front camera for selfies. Both the front and rear cameras come accompanied with LED flash for capturing selfies even in low light conditions. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and the company opted for the stock UI instead of its own Vibe UI. It also supports dual SIM dual standby using the hybrid SIM slot where the user can opt for using two SIM card or a single SIM and MicroSD card.

The circular fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear of the device. Beneath the display are the three capacitive navigation buttons for back, home, and multitasking (left to right). Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, A-GPS, USB OTG, FM Radio, 3.5mm headphone port and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It measures 147.9 x 73.7 x 8.55 mm and weighs 165 grams. The device is backed by a 4,000 mAh Li-poly battery that is rated to give up to 32 hours of talk time and lasts up to 19 days on standby mode.

If you can order through online, then the Lenovo K8 Note & K8 Plus much superior hardware at a slightly higher price. Both these devices also come with dual rear cameras.
