Android Nougat 7.0 Installed on LG Nexus 4 – Procedure & ROM Download

nougat

Google rolled out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the eligible Nexus devices and the Pixel C tablets. However, this year Google decided to ditch the older Nexus smartphones and the tablets like the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 7. This was a led down by the company when compared to other brands like Apple still providing the update to older generation iPhones as well. However, the best part is, this is Android, and hence it is not stopping developers to come up with working builds of the older devices.

On the same lines, today it is reported that one of the older Nexus smartphones, the Nexus 4 might get the taste of the Nougat after all. However, now we just have a build which may not be suitable for the daily use. So if you want to flash this on your device, then please do it on a secondary device and also on your own risk. Not all the features are working with this version, but some of the features which were tested are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, etc. Most of the other features are still a work in progress with the camera, etc not working.

So if you still want to go ahead and proceed with the update, then below is the step-by-step procedure to do the same on your Nexus 4 smartphone –

  • First of all, download the Zip for your device.
  • Now the next step is to flash the zip file on your smartphone. This can be done using a custom recovery software like TWRP.
  • Once done, flash the GApps as well to make sure you have all the necessary software running on the phone.
  • After this Wipe all the cache data, etc.
  • The next step is to install the SuperSU. This step is optional and do this if you have the root access to the device.
  • After the reboot, your Nexus 4 will be running the latest Android 7.0 Nougat.

Let us know if you installed the software on your Nexus 4 and if it worked for you. Stay tuned for more info on this as we will update once a stable version is available.
