Samsung Galaxy A5 2015 Gets Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update

Samsung, the South Korean giant who is riding high in the positive feedback from various industry experts and mobile markets about their new Note7, is celebrating by rolling out a major software update to its last year’s mid-range Galaxy line-up.

The Galaxy A5 2015 variant is getting Marshmallow love as the brand in India has started to roll out this update. Our readers have reported to us that their Galaxy A5 2015 model has received a major software update to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The update is of a pretty large size at 892.01 MB, and it puts the current OS version to A500GXXU1BPE1. According to the changeling given by the company, the new update includes a TouchWiz overhaul as it is stated to provide enchanted usability and visual design. There is a Quick Connect feature, which should help you easily find and connect to the nearby device. It would show current and previous connections at a glance.

There is an introduction of Advanced power saving mode, which would restrict background data and is said to extend battery life. Additionally, the company has applied a new vibration pattern, which you should notice when your device rings after the update. Other changes include improvement in stability and some bugs fixes.

We recommend you download the update over Wi-Fi since the file seems to be quite large in size. As well as keep your battery life at least above 50% so that the device can complete the upgrade procedure. Note that you need to be patient as it may take the time to update your device with the latest software.

If you haven’t received this update yet on your Galaxy A5 2015 model, well, then you would have to check manually for an update. Doing that is easy, just tap on Settings app and further on About section. There you see a download updates manually option. Once you tap on that, it will check for OTA updates manually. If there is indeed an update sent your device’s way, then a prompt should popup stating the update is available to you.
