Samsung-Galaxy-Note-7-Leak-55

Samsung will be launching its upcoming Galaxy Note smartphone later today in New York. Instead of the Galaxy Note 6, the company has confirmed the device to be called as Galaxy Note 7 so that it can match up with the already launched Galaxy S7. Though the formal launch event scheduled for today, we already know most of the details about the device. Now we got the media invite which confirms the rumored launch date in India as August 11th.

The Galaxy Note 7 comes with a dual edge Super AMOLED display with Quad HD resolution. The Galaxy Note Edge launched in 2014 is the first smartphone in the Note lineup to feature edge display. The leaked dimensions of the device suggest it to be 0.2mm thicker when compared to its predecessor. With the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung might use the USB 3.1 Type-C for the first time that also supports fast charging. The power button is on the right edge while the volume rocker can be found on the left side.

The 3.5mm audio port, USB port, speaker, and Stylus are placed on the bottom edge of the device. It is rumored to be powered by Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor, the enhanced version of Snapdragon 820 SoC. Recently ASUS launched the Zenfone 3 Deluxe as the first smartphone with Snapdragon 821 SoC. If the leaks are to be believed, the Galaxy Note 7 might come in two variants with 4GB and 6GB of RAM and will be 64GB and 128GB storage variants.

The Note 7 will also be the first smartphone from Samsung to feature Iris scanner that increases the security; there will also be fingerprint sensor embedded into the Home button. The Galaxy Tab Iris, which was officially launched in India last month, is the first tablet from Samsung to come with Iris scanner. The rear of the device looks similar to Note 5 with the protruding camera.
