Blackberry DTEK60 Smartphone Gets FCC & WiFi Certification

Blackberry Neon

Blackberry had recently unveiled the DTEK50 smartphone which is just a rebranded version of TCL made Alcatel Idol 4. There are also leaks about a new smartphone from Blackberry called DTEK60. Now the device is certified by FCC revealing the model number BBA1001. If the rumors are to be believed, the Blackberry DTEK60 is the rebranded version of upcoming TCL 950 that will be launched in China on September 28th. As the device also got the WiFi certified, we also expect the DTEK60 to be unveiled soon.

Talking about the DTEK60, it comes with flagship specifications and is a complete touchscreen smartphone without any physical keyboard. The device sports flagship specifications built into a 6.99mm glossy body. Though the DTEK60 and TCL 950 comes with the same hardware, the Blackberry comes with its own software based on Android. Apart from the volume rocker and power button, there is also a Convenience key which brings more productivity out of Blackberry OS.

Talking about the specifications, the DTEK60 is said to come with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution while the display on TCL 950 is only limited to Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. In the camera department, there is a 21MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. It is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery and also supports QuickCharge 3.0.

There is also a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear which makes the device a bit more secure. Though the device will be coming with Android 6.0.1 marshmallow out of the box, soon we may also expect Android 7.0 Nougat update. In July this year, Blackberry launched the DTEK50 priced at $299. As of now nothing is yet confirmed by the company, so take this with a pinch of salt until the official launch of DTEK60 smartphone.
