Moto Z & Moto G4 Series Smartphones to Get Android 7.0 Nougat Update in Q4 2016

Motorola used to be one of the first third-party manufacturers to update their devices to the latest Android version. Since Google owned the company earlier to Lenovo, that might also be a reason for the faster updates. Now in 2016, there is no Motorola and all we have is the ‘Moto by Lenovo.’ Lenovo launched the few Moto devices under the all new Moto Z series and the popular Moto G series. All these devices are running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. LG V20 is the first smartphone to launch with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

The latest Android update is available for recent Google Nexus devices along with few Android One smartphones. Now, the actual timeline for the Android Nougat update for selected Moto devices is officially announced. The Android 7.0 Nougat update for Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Moto Z Play, Moto G4, and Moto G4 Plus will be available in Q4 2016. Though we may not guarantee the update for carrier locked Moto devices also to be available in Q4 2016 as they require approval and modification respective to each network carrier.

However, the Android Nougat update for Moto G4 Play and Moto E3 Power isn’t officially announced yet. Earlier launched Moto smartphones are also expected to be updated to latest Android, but as of now, there is no exact time frame and confirmed device list. After launching the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus, recently the company also launched the Moto G4 Play and Moto E3 Power.  The Moto G4 Play is exclusively available on Amazon at a price of Rs. 8,999 while the Moto E3 Power is selling on Flipkart at Rs. 7,999.

The flagship Moto Z series which was first showcased at the Lenovo Tech World in the U.S was recently made available in China. Now the company will be launching it in India on October 4th. The pricing and the availability of the device will be known only that day. Talking about the Moto Mods, we are excited to see the Hasselblad Mod that comes with 10x optical zoom and Xenon flash.
