Google’s new Pixel phones have been in the rumour mill since quite a time now. As the launch comes near, we expect to see more rumors see the day of light before the actual launch of the product on October 4th. In regards to that, a new report highlights the important specifications and showcases what claims to be Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.
Posted on Reddit, these renders of the back-facing panels on the Pixel phones you can see large glass (or might be shiny plastic) panels can be seen on the top part, and it finishes just after fingerprint sensor. While it was suggested that these leaked renders are new, later the maker of these renders commented on a thread that these are made by him back in August after seeing initial renders of the Pixel phones.

Despite that these renders might turn out to be true as the new Pixel phones codenamed Marlin and Sailfish might end up looking like this. The reason is that new Pixel phones are suggested to come with a concept of the touchpad on the back side. The shiny upper panel you see around the fingerprint sensor on the rear side is said to be a touchpad.
There is a very good reason to house such feature on a smartphone, as they are said to have boot functionality in desktop mode through USB Type-C or either Chromecast connectivity to a large display devices. With Andromeda in the development and first ultraportable laptop based on the culmination work of Chrome OS and Android Team is all set for commercial release in Q3 2017. It can be suggested that Google would make use of Andromeda platform on their Pixel phones as well.
Talking about the specifications of the Pixel & Pixel XL phones called respectively as Marlin and Sailfish. The Marlin is reported to come with a 5-inch AMOLED 2K display, while Sailfish would sport a 5.5-inch AMOLED 2K display. They are suggested to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor & accompanied by a 4GB of RAM. Sporting internal storage options of 32 & 128GB. There would be a 12MP rear module with 4K video recording support and 8MP front-facing camera. The battery capacity on Marlin would be 2770 mAh, and Sailfish would have a bigger 3450 mAh.
