BQ Aquaris U, Aquaris U Plus & Aquaris U Lite with 5″ HD Display Launched
The Spanish handset maker, BQ Mobiles had recently launched a new smartphone in Portugal, called as BQ Aquaris X5 Plus which is the first to incorporate the satellite navigation system Galileo and priced at EUR 279.90. Now, this brand has announced a new series of smartphones in the letter U, which are called as BQ Aquaris U, BQ Aquaris U Plus, and BQ Aquaris U-Lite. These smartphones are listed on their company’s website with midrange specifications and pricing.
The BQ Aquaris U smartphone is priced at Eur 169.90 (approx. Rs. 12683 in India / $190.76 in the US), the upgraded version of BQ AQuaris U (Aquaris U Plus) smartphone is cost at Eur 199.90 (approx. Rs. 14922 in India / $224.44 in the US). Finally, the younger brother of BQ Aquaris U (Aquaris U-Lite) smartphone is priced at Eur 139.90 (approx. Rs. 10443 in India / $157 in the US). As of now, these smartphones are available in only Spanish markets, and we don’t have any information about the global launch.
Let’s talk about similarities, these three smartphones features same 5.0-inch HD display with 400 nits of Brightness, LCD A-SI screen, Dinorex Glass protection and can support the multi-touch up to 5 points. It also offers the 294 PPI of pixel density, 16M colors and 16:9 aspect ratio. They come powered by a 16GB of internal memory with the expandable memory up to 256GB via microSD card slot and has a 2 GB of RAM. These three smartphones run on the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.
These three smartphones packed with a 3080 mAh capacity battery that can deliver a battery juice more than a day of usage. All three smartphones support dual SIM dual standby that offers 4G LTE network. The other connectivity options include Bluetooth v4.2, GPS + GLONASS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, FM Radio, 3.5 mm audio jack and Micro-USB port. All three smartphones equipped with DRC AW8737s chipset and pair of microphones for noise cancellation and also come built with a Gyroscope sensor.
Now let us talk differences, The BQ Aquaris U and Aquaris U Plus smartphones come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor that clocks at 1.4 GHz paired with Adreno 505 450 MHz GPU. While on BQ Aquaris U-Lite smartphone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor that clocks at 1.4 GHz coupled with Adreno 308 GPU. The BQ Aquaris U and Aquaris U-lite smartphones are measured by 145 x 71.5 x 8.3 mm in dimensions and 140 grams of weight. While on upgraded version (BQ Aquaris U Plus) has 144 x 70.5 x 7.8 mm in dimensions and 142 grams of weight.
As per as cameras are concerned, All Three smartphones come with a 5MP front-facing camera with OmniVision OV5675, 3 lenses, f/2.4 aperture and Selfie Indicator. On the back, the basic model packed with a 13MP camera with 5 lenses and Samsung 3L8. While on BQ Aquaris U Plus features 16MP camera with Samsung 3P3 and 5 lenses. The younger version is sporting an 8MP camera with OminiVision OV8856 and 4 lenses. All three smartphones can record videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second. The BQ Aquaris U smartphone has NFC support, but the other smartphones have missed this feature. The BQ Aquaris U Plus smartphone comes built with a fingerprint scanner at the back for unlocking the device.
