Vernee to Launch World’s First Helio X30 & Snapdragon 830 powered Smartphones
Vernee is a little known Chinese smartphone brand that has debuted the market in early 2016. The company announced the Apollo smartphone with the flagship specifications and is mentioned to be available starting from April this year. However, it is later delayed until October. The device is priced at $400 and comes with a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display. It is powered by MediaTek’s Helio X20 deca-core SoC and packs 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage.
Now the leaked timeline of their upcoming products revealed some interesting infirmation. MediaTek’s upcoming flagship chipset Helio X30 is said to be built on 10nm architecture and is clocked at 2.8GHz. The Vernee Apollo 2 is mentioned to be world’s first smartphone to feature the Helio X30 processor. It also sports Super AMOLED display, and we expect it to come with Quad HD resolution same as Apollo.
As the Helio X30 supports 8GB of RAM, we are also guessing the device to launch with 8GB RAM. All this can be confirmed only in March 2017 which is when it is mentioned be launched. Talking about the Vernee Apollo 2 Pro, it comes with Snapdragon 830 processor, though it will not be the first smartphone to feature that. At the CES 2016, LeEco launched the Le Max Pro as the world’s first smartphone to come with Snapdragon 820 SoC whereas the Zopo Speed 8 showcased at the MWC 2016 is the first device to feature Helio X20 deca-core processor.
The Apollo 2 Pro also comes with Super AMOLED display and will be launched in May 2017. Unlike Helio X30, there is no information available about this chipset. Recently the company also launched the Vernee Mars smartphone at $250. It came with a unibody design with curved Antenna bands similar to iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The device sports 5.5″ Full HD display, Helio P10 SoC, and 4GB of RAM. It also includes a 13MP IMX258 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP selfie camera on the front.
The device is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that supports fast charging with the included 9V/1.5A power adapter. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with stock UI. The upcoming Vernee Apollo 2 and Apollo 2 Pro can be expected to run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Stay tuned for more updates.
