It is that time of year when Google release their Nexus devices. Despite Nexus series being a good hit, this time, the Mountain View giant decided to make significant changes to its hardware business. As the company is all set to unveil their new Pixel phone. We recently reported that alongside the Google Pixel phone, a new 7-inch Huawei made a tablet with AndroMeda OS might be a preview at the event.

Now there are new reports coming in regarding a new Pixel device code named Bison. It is likely to be the first brand-new device to run Google’s combined Android/Chrome OS Andromeda operating system in laptop form factor. If true, the Pixel 3, the informal nickname, would prove to be the pinnacle of years of work by Google’s various teams such as Pixel, Android, and Chrome OS.

With industry favoring the hybrid laptops, Google may introduce the Pixel 3 with 2-in-1 tablet-notebook style as it aligns with the notion of Andromeda’s development, which combines the power of Android and Chrome OS in one platform. It is reported that Bison might come with a 12.3-inch touch display and is suggested to power by an Intel M3 or i5 Processor. Sporting 8GB or either 16GB of RAM, while internal storage option between 32GB or 128GB.

The new Google Pixel 3 Laptop with Andromeda OS might be priced starting at $749 considering the earlier models pricing. It is planned as an ultra-thin laptop would surely give completion to Microsoft Surface Book and Lenovo’s Yoga convertible series. It would be sporting fingerprint scanner, two USB type-C ports, 3.5mm jack, stylus support that is touted to be sold separately.

Talking further about specifications, it would be coming up with stereo speakers, quad microphones and a battery pack that is suggested to give up to 10 hours of life. There would be a backlit keyboard, glass trackpad that will house haptic and force detection that is seen on MacBook. All this would be fit inside a form factor under 10mm thickness, which would make it noticeably thinner than Apple’s ultraportable.

Google is aiming to retail the Bison/ Pixel 3 in Q3 2017.
