Now Shop Music on Google Play Music App in India from just Rs 15
Yesterday, Google conducted a press meet in India that aimed to highlight Google’s services in the country. At the event, there are several announcements made including the launch of YouTube Go app and announcement of Google Assistant coming in Hindi in the new Smart Messaging app, Allo.
Apart from these two announcements, there were some interesting facts shared by the company about their services in the country. Such as their new Video calling app, Duo is equally popular in the country as the United States. With Google for India Initiative, the company shared the aim to bring their popular products to Indian regional languages.

Now today the company has released another one of their products in India. The company has brought Google Play Music store to India. From today, Indian users can purchase and download music using Google Play Music app on their Android devices or even from the system. There wasn’t any official announcement made for this; it was only this morning that Google Play Music app users started to notice the change.
The service has been active in other countries since 2011; it has been long time coming. There are even newer features such as Podcast directory on the latest apps in other regions. The Play Music is more than just a cross-platform store at this point. You can notice the charts listing the top songs and albums. New releases can be seen too.
Google already sells movies, games, books and apps in India through it’s Google Play Store service; now Music is added to that list. The singles are priced at Rs 15 each, while the full album ranges from Rs 50 to Rs 140. Unfortunately, the company hasn’t yet brought the monthly subscription plan, which would be an ideal thing to do. Considering there are many players in the country such as Wynk, Gaana, Hungama, Saavn, etc. that offer a monthly subscription for music streaming.
Streaming option for Play Music is available in 63 countries across the world at $9.99. It seems to be on higher side when compared with Indian Music Streaming application scenario. Nonetheless, Indian users can now finally enjoy Music purchase and download songs from Play Music app. The popularity of this device would, of course, depend on whether Google brings cost-effective monthly subscription to India sooner or not.
