Blackberry just made it official that the company won’t be manufacturing any hardware and will completely focus on the software side of things. As soon as this new broke out, many of avid Blackberry QWERTY keyboard enthusiasts (yes there are people who still buys them) were led down. It was expected that with the new outsourcing move, these old devices would be completely taken down. But on the contrary, Blackberry CEO himself confirmed with a statement that the signature QWERTY keyboard smartphones are not going anywhere.

Yes, in a recent video interview Blackberry CEO John Chen confirmed that old devices with the QWERTY keyboard would stay. The CEO also confirmed that the company would release another smartphone with the legendary Blackberry keyboard sometime in the next couple of years. No timeline was given for the same, but they are coming soon. So now this clears the air, and everyone who was looking forward to an old school Blackberry keyboard device can take a deep breath.

Also, it is unclear as to which phone maker will make this device, so we just have to wait until some fresh new rumours about the same starts poping-up. As of now if you are in the market for a Blackberry smartphone, then the newly launched DTek50 is one of your options, which is pretty much a rebranded Idol 4.And we also have some confirmed rumours claiming that the upcoming Dtek60 is also coming very soon. This new Dtek60 will be pretty much an upgraded version of the TCL 950 which the company launched yesterday in China.

As far as the specs of the DTek60 goes, it is expected that the device will sport a QHD display on the front which will be sized at 5.5-inches. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset along with 4GB of RAM. The device run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and will be kept powered by a 3,000 mAh battery. Pretty much all the specs are similar to that of the TCL 950 smartphone. Stay tuned for more info on this.
