What’s Public Group Feature goes Live on the Latest Beta Update
WhatApp has started rolling out an update for its Android users and this Version 2.16.281 will bring many bug fixes and also transports compatibility for public in groups. WhatsApp has been one of the biggest and well know messenger application from few years, and it was acquired by Facebook after which it has seen many improvements with the updates.
Well, talking about the new update to the beta application, the administrator can now have the advantage of adding the users to their WhatsApp group by the new Invite to group link which will be available at the top of the contact list. For this to be implemented, you don’t have to be the admin of the group.
This feature will be useful when you find it difficult to find the contact of the user that you want to get in contact with. You can simply send the link to the user using any third party messenger app, and once the user clicks the link, they will be added to the group. For this the user needs to click the link from the mobile phone and it should be installed with WhatsApp.
The disadvantage of generating this link is anyone can use the link and join the group. Although it will be useful if you are organizing an even on some social media and find it difficult to add so many contacts, this will be a life saver. There is also the option of revoking the link so that the gets expired and no one will be able to join the chat.
To use this feature, the user needs to get upgraded to this latest version and click on the button to generate the invite link which can be shared by an encoded QR or written to a physical NFC tag along with sharing via third party applications. This version also brings a quick forward button that lets the user forward their message easily.
