88, 770 iPhone 6s Batteries to be Replaced for Sudden Shutdown & Drastic Drain

On 30th of November last year, we have seen Apple announcing its battery replacement program globally. Now Apple has announced that it will replace 88,770 iPhone 6s defective batteries in the UAE which were causing a sudden shutdown when the battery drops below 60 percent and also after attending a call. Dr. Hashim Al Nuaimi, Director of the Consumer Protection Department at the ministry has said that the users have to visit a customer service and also provided a link (click here) to use.

On the website, the user needs to enter the iPhone serial number and step by step instruction is also given on the same. Apple also mentioned that a limited number range of batteries that were manufactured between September and October 2015 in China would be recalled. Apple also said that if any customer is experiencing the issue they can use the serial number checker to check their device is eligible for the battery replacement for free or not.

Dr. Hashim Al Nuaimi, Director of the Consumer Protection Department at the ministry also said that the process is being carried out in cooperation and coordination between Apple and Ministry, is an issue of protecting the consumer but not a safety concern. A similar situation occurred in 2013 with iPhone 5 where Apple replaced the batteries, and recently we have seen Samsung Galaxy Note 7 were also recalled after its series of blasts.

Coming to the iPhone 6 came with 6MP and an 8MP iSight camera, 1.5µ pixels, ƒ/2.2 aperture. It also featured the A8 chip in the device has a dedicated image signal processor made by Apple. The device came with a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 1334 x 750 pixels. Later the iPhone 7 was announced with the same display with some improvements in its specs. So do you own an iPhone 6s?
