Asus is the one manufacturer which confuses by launching two to three smartphones with the same name. Today the company launched the Zenfone Go 5.0 LTE (ZB500KL) which is an upgraded variant fo the last year’s Zenfone Go 5.0 LTE. The 2nd-gen device with the model number ZB500KL sports almost similar specifications as its predecessor. From the front, even the device looks similar to last year’s Zenfone Go 5.0 LTE with concentric circles design below the capacitive buttons. While the volume rocker is now placed on the rear of the device, the power button sits on the top edge of the device.
It is priced at Rs. 8,999 and comes in Black, Red, Blue, and Gold color options. As of now, the device is only listed online on Amazon India and is also said to be sold via offline retail stores across India. Apart from the onboard storage, Asus is also offering 5GB of cloud storage free for lifetime.
While the last year’s Zenfone Go 5.0 LTE came with an 8MP rear camera, it is now upgraded to a 13MP sensor that comes with f/2.0 aperture. However, the 5MP selfie camera remains same as on its predecessor. It comes backed by a 2,600mAh battery that is mentioned to give 16 hours of talk time on a 3G connection and 13.7 hours of Wi-Fi browsing. The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers all the basic connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3.5 Audio port, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The newly launched Zenfone G0 5.0 LTE runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the highly customized ZenUI laid on top. As seen with the earlier launched devices, we can expect many bloatware apps on this device as well. Last month, the company also launched the mid-range Zenfone 3S Max priced at Rs. 14,999 exclusively on Amazon India. The device sports an all-metal body and sports front facing home button. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The USP of the Zenfone 3S Max is its 5,000mAh battery that is rated to give 28 hours of talk time.
The fingerprint sensor that comes embedded into the front facing home button can detect from 360-degrees. At such a high price, Asus has still launched the device with an HD resolution display. It is powered by Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. There is also a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera. Both the Zenfone G0 5.0 LTE and Zenfone 3S Max has the better alternatives in the market which are also slightly cheaper.
