Asus Zenfone 4 with 5.7″ 2K Display & 21MP Camera to Launch at MWC 2017

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

After unveiling the Zenfone 3 series at the Computex 2016 event in Taiwan, Asus recently launched the Zenfone AR and Zenfone 3 Zoom smartphones at the CES 2017 held in early January. While the Zenfone 3 Zoon is the company’s first dual camera smartphone, the Zenfone AR is the only smartphone in the world to come with a whopping 8GB of RAM. Recently there are also leaks about the Zenfone 4 devices, but it is expected to be unveiled in the month of May. However, the recent rumors suggest the company to unveil them at the upcoming MWC event that will be held in Barcelona from February 27th to March 2nd.

The naming of this new device might confuse many of us as the company had earlier launched the Zenfone 4Zenfone 5, and Zenfone 6 smartphones based on their screen sizes. Now an unknown device with flagship specifications is listed on GFXbench and is expected to be upcoming Zenfone 4 smartphone. The device listed on GFXbench runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and comes with stock Android UI instead of Zen UI. Earlier today, the company launched Zenfone 3S Max smartphone in India, its first smartphone running on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Talking about the specifications of the Zenfone 4 smartphone, it comes with a 5.7-inch display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. While the latest Snapdragon 835 powered smartphones launch might get delayed, manufacturers are now opting for last-gen processors. The LG G6 is expected to come with Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor, and now the Zenfone 4 will come powered by Snapdragon 820 processor. It will be equipped with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Zenfone 3 Deluxe launched in 2016 came with Snapdragon 821 SoC and featured the same RAM and storage.

While Asus smartphones come with dual SIM slots, the listing mentioned it to support only one SIM. There will be a 21MP rear camera with LED flash that can record 4K resolution videos and an 8MP front camera for selfies. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS,  and NFC. It also packs a bunch of sensors like accelerometer, barometer, compass, gyroscope, light sensor, pedometer, proximity, and thermometer. Since the MWC 2017 is a few weeks away, we will be getting more information about the Zenfone 4 in the coming days.

Earlier rumors of the Zenfone 4 mentioned the device to come with even lower specifications. We expect that to be another variant which sports a smaller 5.2-inch display and comes packed a 4,850mAh battery. As seen with the previous announcements, Asus will be unveiling two to three variants under one name with slightly different specifications and screen sizes. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
