After the huge success of the Redmi Note 3 smartphone in 2016, now in 2017, the company came up with the even better successor called Redmi Note 4. However, Xiaomi is now teasing about the launch of the new Redmi Note 4X, which is expected to be an upgraded variant of the Redmi Note 4. The device will be officially launched in China on February 8th and might go on sale starting from February 14th. Apart from the launch date, there is no other official information about the device. In the last few months, we have seen few rumors about the Redmi Note 4X mentioning it packs almost similar specifications as the currently available Redmi Note 4.
Based on the leaks, the Redmi Note 4X packs an all metal body. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with a 2.5D glass laid on top. Under the hood, the device might come with Snapdragon 653 octa-core processor instead of the MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor. As seen with the earlier launched Redmi devices, the Redmi Note 4X will be available in 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB RAM variants along with 32GB and 64GB storage variants. There will also be a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage on this device. The earlier leaked screenshot suggested the device to run on the custom MIUI 8.1 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
It will also support dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE for accessing high-speed internet. In the camera department, we expect the device to feature a 16MP autofocus rear camera and a 5MP fixed focus front camera. We can surely see a fingerprint sensor but the support for Xiaomi’s mobile payment service, Mi Pay might not be available. The IR Blaster is one more feature that the company is continuously offering on the Redmi Note series. As seen on the Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3, Redmi Note 4, and Redmi 4; the Redmi Note 4X might include the same 4,100mAh non-removable battery. While the device will be soon launched in China, at this point, we can’t confirm the availability of it in the other markets.
Take these details with a pinch of salt since the company is yet to launch the device. Xiaomi will officially unveil the device on February 8th in China, and sales start from February 14th. The Redmi Note 4X is expected to measure 151 x 76.3 x 8.54 mm and weighs 176 grams; these dimensions are almost same as of Redmi Note 4. Xiaomi Redmi 4, the successor to Redmi 3 is also due to launch in the Indian market. The device comes with a 5-inch HD display, and the design looks similar to the 5.5-inch Redmi Note 4. Even with a smaller form factor, it comes with 4,100mAh battery. It is powered by the Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor and comes different RAM and storage options. There is a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details about the upcoming Xiaomi smartphones.
