Close To 5 Million People Are Still Using Xiaomi Mi 2 & Mi 2S Smartphones Globally

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Xiaomi launched the Mi 2 and the Mi 2S smartphone a few years back. In fact, both the Mi 2 as well as the Mi 2S smartphones were launched about 5 years back and there is no doubt that there are a lot of other new and comparatively powerful smartphones out there in the market. However, it looks like still there are millions of users using the smartphone globally and the same has been reported by the company’s CEO, Lei Jun.

According to a post by the company’s CEO, Lei Jun on Weibo, the Mi 2 and the Mi 2S smartphones are still being used by almost 5 million people. He further a raised a question wondering if the reason behind the popularity of the smartphones is due to the 4.3-inch display size. It is indeed a known fact that the number of smartphones will smaller display is reducing in the market since most of the smartphone manufacturers are moving towards huge displays.

Speaking of the huge display, most of the smartphones are being released in the market these days have a display size over 5-inch. In fact, most of the smartphones released by Xiaomi also carries a display, which is bigger than 5-inches in size. However, this is not necessarily a bad thing since the bezels are also getting smaller and smaller, making it more compact to use. However, we do believe that smartphones with comparatively smaller displays still have a huge market even today and smartphones like the iPhone SE, etc. are an example of the same.

But it is indeed quite surprising to see people still using smartphones like Xiaom Mi 2 and Mi 2S even today when there are far better smartphone offerings out. Having said that, now it remains to be seen if any manufacturer will come up with a smartphone with a smaller display in 2017 or not. Who knows, we could end up seeing something from Xiaomi itself. But with that said, we would like to know if you would be interested in buying a smartphone with smaller display size or not?
