Xiaomi X1 with Dual-lens Camera & Snapdragon 660 SoC Leaked Online

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Xiaomi is rumored to launch the successor to the last year’s Redmi Pro in the next few weeks. While the Redmi Pro 2 is in the leaks from the last couple of months, the latest leaks from China reveal the company to launch the Xiaomi X1 instead of Redmi Pro 2. The Xiaomi Redmi Pro launched in July 2016 is the company’s first smartphone to feature AMOLED display and also the dual camera setup. Till date, the company maintained the Mi series for high-end devices and Redmi series for the affordable devices. Now, the rumored X series seems to fill the gap between affordable and premium segments.

The Xiaomi X1 is said to come in two variants where the high-end variant come with a full-screen display as seen on the Xiaomi Mi MIX. It sports a 5.5-inch display offering 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution. Both the variants come powered by the new Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor. Just like the Redmi Pro, the X1 is also expected to feature dual camera setup. It is mentioned to use the Sony IMX362 or the IMX386 dual sensors. While the full-screen variant comes with a rear-facing fingerprint sensor, the regular variant will have a physical home button on the front with an integrated fingerprint sensor.

The device will be coming in 4GB/6GB RAM variants with 64GB/128GB storage options. Coming to the pricing, the most affordable variant will be costing 1999 Yuan (approx $295 / Rs. 19,000), and with the better specifications, the price reaches up to 2799 Yuan (approx $410 / Rs. 26,700). Looking at the pricing, the device should be coming with a metal body. Since there is no official confirmation from the company, take these details with a pinch of salt. The leakster further states the company to ditch the Redmi Pro devices as the first gen device wasn’t well received.

Earlier this year, we have heard few rumors about the launch of Mi MIX Mini with affordable price tag. The Xiaomi X1 might see the company’s affordable bezel-less smartphone. However, the company might skip using the ceramic body, proximity sensor, and the piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology to keep the price as low as possible. Having said that, we would like to know your thoughts on this. Lets us know, would you be interested in using a bezel-less smartphone.
