Lenovo Launches Four New Android Tablets Under the Tab 4 Series with 4G LTE Support

The market share of the Android tablets is mostly ruled by the low-cost manufacturers. Talking about the high-end Android tablets, Samsung is the only major manufacturer to continuously launch the premium tablets powered by Android. We mostly see the high-end tablets to come with either iOS or Windows 10. Today, Lenovo has launched four new Android tablets under the mid-range Tab 4 series. The list includes Lenovo Tab 4 10, Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus, Lenovo Tab 4 8, and Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus.

Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus

Out of all the four tablets, the Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus is the most powerful tablet. As the name suggests, it comes with a 10.1-inch IPS  display with Full HD (1920 x 1200 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, it comes powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz and Adreno 506 GPU. It comes in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants with 16GB and 64GB of internal storage respectively. There is also a MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage additionally up to 128GB. The fingerprint sensor integrated into the front facing home button placed beneath the display.

In the camera department, the Tab 4 10 Plus comes with an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. It comes with the dual front facing speakers with Dolby Atmos support for surround sound output. The tablet is backed a whopping 7,000mAh battery and it also supports fast charging. It measures 247 x 173 x 7.1 mm and weighs 475 grams. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port. Coming to the pricing, the Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus with 3GB RAM is priced at Rs. 24,990 and the 4GB RAM variant costs Rs. 29,990.

Lenovo Tab 4 10

The Tab 4 10 is the affordable variant to the 10.1-inch Tab 4 10 Plus. However, the company hasn’t yet revealed the pricing of this particular tablet. The 10.1-inch IPS  display on the Tab 4 10 comes with HD (1280 x 800 pixels) resolution. It is powered by Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and packs just 2GB of RAM. While it comes with just 16GB of onboard storage, there is a MicroSD card slot for further expansion. Unlike the Tab 10 Plus, there is no fingerprint sensor on this tablet, but it still offers dual stereo speakers on the front.

In terms of optics, the Tab 4 10 sports a 5MP shooter on the rear and a 2MP selfie shooter on the front. Compared to the Tab 4 10 Plus, the Tab 4 10 is slightly thicker and heavier. It is backed by the same 7,000mAh battery and we expect it to last more than a day even with heavy usage. Along with the Lenovo and Google apps, the tablet also includes Microsoft apps which might decrease the available storage on this tablet.

Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus

Talking about the smaller 8-inch tablets, the Tab 4 8 Plus offers same high-end specifications of the Tab 4 10 Plus in a smaller form factor. It sports an 8-inch Full HD (1920 x 1200 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 14nm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor. Just like the Tab 10 Plus, the Tab 4 8 Plus also comes in 3GB + 16GB and 4GB + 64GB variants. With the included MicroSD card slot, the user can anyway expand the storage up to 128GB. The fingerprint sensor on this tablet comes integrated with the power button on the side edge.

There is an 8MP sensor on the rear and a 5MP sensor on the front of the device. The dual front facing speakers with Dolby Atmos output are also present on this tablet. With the smaller form factor, the Tab 4 8 Plus includes a smaller 4,850mAh non-removable battery. It measures 210.6 x 123 x 7 mm and weighs 300 grams. On the connectivity front, the device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port. The Tab 4 8 Plus with similar specifications as Tab 4 10 Plus will be retailing from Rs. 16,990.

Lenovo Tab 4 8

Coming to the most affordable tablet among the list, the Tab 4 8 shares same specifications with the Tab 4 10 except the screen size and battery. The Tab 4 8 comes with an 8-inch HD (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display and supports 10-point multi-touch. It includes Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. The storage on this device can be expanded up to a maximum of 128GB. On the camera front, the Tab 4 8 features a 5MP primary camera on the rear and a 2MP selfie camera on the front.

It measures 211 x 124 x 8.2 mm and weighs 310 grams. Connectivity options remains same as on the other three tablets. On the front, we can seen dual stereo speaker with Dolby Atmos support. It is kept powered on by a 4,850mAh battery and includes USB Type-C port. The power button comes with a textured finish to easily distinguish it from the volume rocker.

All the four tablets come with 4G LTE support and run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The tablets also support dual SIM dual standby but offers 4G LTE connectivity only on any one of the two SIMs. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details about the upcoming tablets.
