Mafe Mobile Launches AIR Smartphone with 2GB RAM & Android Nougat for Rs. 3999 in India

Mafe mobiles have launched a new affordable smartphone in India called as AIR which will also support 4G connectivity. Mafe is known to launch affordable Android devices in the country and earlier it has launched the devices like Mafe Shine M810 that was priced at 4,599 and Mafe Lite Feature phone which was similar to the Nokia 3310. The new device will be available in Champagne Gold and Coffee color variant and can be bought from more than 14,000 retail points and e-commerce sites also.
Coming to the specifications of this handset, the AIR will sport a 5-inch FWVGA (800 x 480 pixels) touchscreen display and will be powered by a 1.3GHz quad core Spreadtrum processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. Moreover, this affordable handset will come out of the box with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system but nothing is known about the further updates. The on board storage is limited to 16GB which can be extended further up to 32GB via microSD card slot.
On the camera front, there is a 5MP camera on the rear with LED flash and it will be accompanied with a 2MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls. Apart from 4G, there are other connectivity options sensors like GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Wi- Fi Hotspot, gravity and proximity sensor and FM radio. There is a 2000mAh battery on the back that can give 10 hours of talk time and 22 hours of standby time.
At the launch event, Director of Saawariya Impex Pvt Ltd – Mr. Jaikishan Agarwal has said that their customer centric philosophy and commitment to quality has helped them to sell over 2.5 million devices till date. The Mafe Air is priced at Rs. 3999 and measures 10.7 mm in thickness and weighs 120 grams. What are your views on this device? Do you own any device from Mafe?
