Panasonic Launches Eluga Ray 500 & Eluga Ray 700 Smartphones Exclusively on Flipkart

Last week, we reported about the Panasonic Eluga Ray 500 listing spotted on Flipkart. It is one of the most affordable smartphones with dual cameras setup. Today, the company has officially launched both the Panasonic Eluga Ray 500 and Eluga Ray 700 smartphone in India. Both the devices are exclusively sold through Flipkart and the sales will kick-off from Big Billion Days sale starting September 20th. The Eluga Ray 500 is priced at Rs. 8,999 while the Eluga Ray 700 costs Rs. 9,999. The smartphones will be available in Mocha Gold, Marine Blue, and Champagne Gold colors.

Unlike the Eluga Ray 500, there are dual rear cameras on the Eluga Ray 700, but it comes with superior hardware. Both the devices come with metal body and sports a front-facing home button with an integrated fingerprint sensor. The devices run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, and the company opted for the stock Android UI instead of the in-house tweaked UI. There is also hybrid SIM slot on both the devices, where the user can opt for dual SIM cards or a single SIM card and a MicroSD card.

Panasonic Eluga Ray 500

Talking about the dual camera setup, the Eluga Ray 500 features a 13MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 8MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture. It sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with a 2.5D curved glass on the top. Under the hood is the MediaTek MTK6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.25GHz. There is 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a MicroSD card slot. For selfies, there is a 5MP camera with the f/2.4 aperture on the front.

It is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery that might easily give a more a day-long battery life. On the connectivity front, the Eluga Ray 500 includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, USB OTG, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The smartphone measures 144.26 x 71.26 x 9.2 mm and weighs 163 grams. Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device. The smartphone also includes an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor.

Panasonic Eluga Ray 700

The Eluga Ray 700 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. It is powered by MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and comes coupled with Mali-T720 MP3 GPU. The Eluga Ray 700 packs 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage, same as the Eluga Ray 500. On the rear is a 13MP sensor with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and dual LED flash. One front is also a 13MP sensor but comes with f/2.2 aperture and single LED flash.

With the bigger form factor, the Eluga Ray 700 also packs a bigger 5,000mAh battery. It measures 153.75 x 75.35 x 8.9 mm and weighs 182 grams. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The accessories in the box include charger, USB cable, protective screen guard, earphones, SIM ejector pin, and headset. It packs accelerometer, proximity sensor, e-compass, and ambient light sensor.
