10th Anniversary iPhones to Feature Edge-to-Edge OLED Display with Virtual Home Button

On September 9th, Apple launched the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with few impressive specifications, mainly the cameras. Though the company is initially planned to launch the 2016 iPhones with OLED display, the leaks suggested that the plan is postponed till 2017 as the current production from the suppliers will not be sufficient. Now, New York Times reported that the company would be bringing even bigger changes with the 2017 iPhones.

Steve Jobs launched the iPhone in 2007 and next year; the iPhone will be celebrating the 10th anniversary.  Apple might also skip the iPhone 7S devices to directly launch the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in 2017 itself. While the 2016 iPhones missed the 3.5mm audio port and physical home button, the 2017 iPhones will not feature the home button. Instead, the devices will be coming virtual home button just like the on-screen navigation buttons on few Android-powered smartphones.

Talking about the display, the upcoming iPhones will sport OLED panels. Even more importantly, the devices will feature an edge-to-edge display which we expect to be bezel-less on all the four sides, at least on three sides. The 3.5 mm audio port will continue to miss on next-gen iPhone as well.
