Gionee GN5005 with 3GB RAM & 4,000mAh Battery Listed on TENAA

The offline focused brands, OPPO and Vivo are growing rapidly in the two largest smartphone markets, China and India. While OPPO is the largest smartphone manufacturer in China, Vivo takes third position next to Huawei. One more brand, Gionee is nowhere near to above mentioned two brands. While the OPPO and Vivo smartphones are more focusing on making smartphones for the younger generation, Gionee chooses the business users by offering encrypted and secure smartphones. Earlier, their Marathon series devices use to stand out with their huge battery capacities, but nowadays, most of the manufacturers are launching smartphones with decent batteries capacities.

Now, a new affordable smartphone with the model number GN5005 is listed on TENAA. It comes with decent specifications featuring a polycarbonate shell. It sports a 5-inch TFT display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is a quad-core processor clocked at 1.25GHz, we can expect the company to use MediaTek processor more than a Snapdragon processor. It packs 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage that can be expanded upto another 128GB via MicroSD card slot. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Amigo UI laid on top. We don’t expect the Chinese manufacturers to release the latest Android Nougat update anytime soon.

It features an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies. The GN5005 supports dual SIM dual standby and offers VoLTE. With the all these specifications, the device can give more than a day usage with the 4,000mAh battery. The connectivity options on this device include 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The listing shows the device to come only in Gold color. There is a black strap on the top rear of the device which includes the primary camera. The loudspeaker is placed on the bottom rear of the device and the power button, and volume rocker can be found on the right edge of the device.

Recently, Gionee launched its latest flagship smartphone Gionee S9 with 13MP + 5MP dual rear camera setup. It is the successor to the Gionee S8 that was launched earlier this year at MWC. It is powered by MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. For selfies, the company included a 13MP front camera. With just 7.4 mm thickness, the battery on this device is limited to just 3,000mAh capacity. While there is a new more smartphone called M2017 from Gionee which comes with a whopping 7,000mAh body.
