Honor V9 Smartphone with 2K Display, Kirin 960 SoC & 6GB RAM Launched

As announced earlier, the Honor V9 is officially launched today in the China. The device packs the flagship specification as mentioned in the TENAA listing. This is also the first smartphone in the Honor 9 series and in the next few months, we may also see the Honor 9 launch. Talking about the specification, the device sports an all-metal body with a slight curve on the edges. It comes in Red, Gold and Blue color options. As seen with the earlier launched Honor smartphone, the Honor V9 also sports large bezels on top and bottom of the device.
It sports a large 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display with a pixel density of 515 ppi. Under the hood is the latest Kirin 960 octa-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz and coupled with Mali G71 MP8 GPU. The Honor V9 comes in three variants- 4GB RAM + 64GB Storage, 64GB RAM + 64GB Storage, and 6GB RAM + 128GB Storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion upto another 128GB. The device runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the in-house EMUI 5.0 laid on top.
Talking about the dual rear cameras, the Honor V9 features a 12MP monochrome sensor and a 12MP RGB sensor. It comes with f/2.2 aperture, laser autofocus, and dual tone LED Flash. For selfies, there is an 8MP front camera. with f/2.0 aperture and wide-angle lens. The device can also record videos at 4k resolution with rear camera and the front camera is limited to 1080p. With all these flagship specifications, the device is kept powered on by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery that is rated to give 30 hours of talk time and lasts upto 21 days on standby.
The device supports dual SIM dual standby with the help of hybrid SIM slot. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, 3.5mm Audio port, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port. The Honor V9 measures 157 × 77.5 × 6.97 mm and weighs 184 grams. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the back of the device and it can be used for authorizing mobile payments with the Huawei Pay app. This same device will be soon launched on the international stage as Honor 8 Pro.
Coming to the pricing, the 4GB RAM variant is priced at 2599 Yuan whereas the 6GB RAM variant costs 2999 Yuan and 3499 Yuan for the 64GB and 128GB storage variants respectively. Along with the Honor V9, the company also launched the Honor 8 Lite and the company’s first 360-degree camera called Honor VR Camera. Stay tuned for more updates!
