LG G6 Leaked in New Press Renders, Sports Glass Back Body
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
LG will be launching its latest flagship smartphone LG G6 at the upcoming Mobile World Congress event. The complete details will be known on the company’s press conference day, i.e, February 26th. However, the company has already confirmed few of its features with the teaser images. While the first look of the LG G6 is already out unofficially through the leaks and case listings, now Evan Blass has posted a new image of the device on Twitter. Unlike the earlier leaked images, the device in the latest image features a glass back body instead of the metal. So, we might be seeing at least two variants of the LG G6 on the launch day.
With the LG G6 smartphone, LG will be finally dropping off the removable battery feature to make the device water and dust resistant. As seen in the above image, the device sports dual rear cameras and a single selfie camera on the front. The dual 13MP sensors on the rear offer 125-degree wide-angle view while the single 8MP sensor on the front comes with 100-degree wide-angle lens. It sports a 5.7-inch QHD+ (2880 x 1440 pixels) FullVision display that offers unusual 18:9 aspect ratio. Though there are small bezels on all the four sides, still the display occupies most of the real estate on the front.
The device will be running on the Android 7.0/7.1 Nougat out of the box with the latest LG UX 6.0 UI laid on top. With the 18:9 aspect ratio, the user can get a better experience while using apps side-by-side in split-screen multitasking. The LG UX 6.0 will come with a Square Camera feature that divides the display into two squares showing the camera preview in one window and allows the user to review the captured in the other window. It also includes Food Mode for generating instant GIF’s from 2 to 100 images on the device.
Instead of waiting for the Snapdragon 835 SoC, the company chooses to go with the Snapdragon 821 SoC. The last year’s LG V20 came with the same Snapdragon 821 SoC and based on the rumors; the upcoming LG V30 will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC. While the NFC will be included on the LG G6, we might also see the MST that makes the device usable at non-NFC compatible swiping machines. Though there is no reliable source backing this particular rumor, the device might actually come with IRIS scanner on the front, just like the Galaxy Note 7. It helps in keeping the device more secure but also comes in few cons like less reliability in low light conditions.
If the rumors are to be believed, the LG G6 will also be the company’s first smartphone to include 6GB of RAM. Samsung already launched the Galaxy C9 Pro with 6GB of RAM in world’s top two largest smartphone markets. Since the LG G6 will be officially unveiled in just four days, stay tuned on Phone Radar for more updates!
