Xiaomi Mi MIX White Color Variant Goes on Sale for the First Time Today

At the CES 2017, the Chinese smartphone brand, Xiaomi showcased the White color variant of the Mi MIX (Buy Now) smartphone. The ceramic built device in the new White color looks as elegant as in the Black color. Though the device is limited just to the Chinese market, till date, the company is selling on only the Black color variant. But from today, both the White and Black color devices will be available to purchase. The White colored Mi MIX is only limited to 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The device is priced at 3499 Yuan (approx $510 / Rs. 34,000) for the 4GB RAM variant and the 6GB RAM variant with 256GB storage costs 3999 Yuan (approx $580 / Rs. 40,000).

The 6GB RAM variant additionally comes with 18K Gold plated rings around the fingerprint sensor and the rear camera module. The 6.4-inch display of the Mi MIX fits into a phone which regularly comes with 5.7-inch screen size. However, now most of the flagship like LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8 are rumored to come with very thin bezels offering higher screen-to-body ratio. The display of the Mi MIX comes with a 2040 x 1080 pixels ratio and offers 17:9 aspect ratio. Apart from the innovative display, the device also includes top-notch specifications. It is powered by the Snapdragon 821 octa-core processor clocked at 2.35GHz and coupled with Adreno 530 GPU.

Even the frame and physical buttons are also made up of ceramic and make the device even more slippery. The company is also offering a high-quality leather case along with the device for free. There is a 16MP rear camera with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture that can record videos at 4K resolution. Talking about the front camera, the 5MP selfie camera is placed on the bottom bezel of the device. The company also replaced the physical earpiece with the Cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic system. There is also no proximity sensor on top of the device, instead, the Mi MIX comes with an Ultrasonic sensor that sits below the display.

With all these power hungry specifications, the device is backed by a 4,400mAh battery that also supports Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging. The device is a dual SIM device and accepts two nano SIMs. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI 8 out of the box. Connectivity options include 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, A-GPS,  3.5mm Audio port, and a USB Type-C 3.0 port. As seen earlier, the device will be available in limited stock. While the device through official channels is only limited to China, you too can get the bezel-less Mi MIX smartphone from the Chinese reseller, Gearbest. It comes pre-loaded with Google Play Services and also supports most of the LTE bands.
