Micromax Dual 5 is a Rebranded Qiku 360 Q5 with a 32% Higher Price in India
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Micromax made a comeback today or at least say have attempted to make a comeback (since it’s not out yet to buy) today by launching their new smartphone called the Dual 5. This smartphone is mainly a camera centric device as it sports dual 13MP cameras at the back and also a 13MP camera on the front. Talking about the pricing, it is priced at Rs. 24,999 and if you want to know more about it, then head over to this article here where we covered everything about it in detail. Now we can’t really judge the performance of the smartphone yet since we haven’t spent enough time with it just yet. However, one strange fact to notice is that it is strikingly similar to Qiku 360 Q5 or wait, is it just a rebranded Qiku 360 Q5?
First, let’s talk about Qiku 360 Q5’s specs. The Qiku 360 Q5 has a 5.5″ AMOLED FHD display on the front, and internally it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core chip. It has 4GB of RAM, and along with that, it also has 128GB of internal storage. Talking about the camera optics, we have dual 13MP rear facing cameras, and on the front, we have a 13MP front-facing camera as well, and the smartphone is kept powered by a 3,200 mAh battery with QC 3.0 support for fast charging.
Now that you know what the Qiku 360 Q5 is all about, let’s compare it with the newly launched Micromax Dual 5 smartphone. The Dual 5 also has the exact same 5.5″ FHD AMOLED display on the front, and it is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC. This one also has 4GB of RAM, and interestingly, we have the same 128GB of internal storage as well. In terms of the camera which the Dual five is so hyped up for, also has the same 13MP + 13MP setup at the back and on the front, we have the same 13MP selfie shooter. Battery capacity is also the same coming in at 3,200 mAh battery with QC 3.0.
And in terms of the design as well, they pretty much have the exact same design. You can take a look at the image above to cross check that once. In fact, the Qiku 360 Q5 also comes with the security chip and all the security features like taking the photo of the thief trying to unlock the device, etc. The only thing which is not same is the pricing and the Dual 5 smartphone is priced at 24,999 INR which is about 32-percent higher than the Qiku 360 Q5.
To sum it up, Micromax here is selling us a rebranded Qiku 360 Q5 smartphone with just the Micromax Logo in place of the Qiku 360 logo and they are charging us more for that. Yes, there might be some dissimilarities in terms of the user experience because of the software, but essentially what you are paying here is for a Qiku 360 Q5 which you can get for a far cheaper price compared to this. With that said, we would like to know your thoughts on this and hence be sure to comment down below on what you think about this. As always, stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more info on this.
