OPPO R11 Smartphone with Dual-lens Rear Camera to Launch Soon in China
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
OPPO recently launched its first dual camera smartphone, OPPO F3 Plus in India and few Southeast Asian countries. It comes with a 16MP and 8MP dual cameras on the front of the device. Apart from the dual front cameras, the F3 Plus is the same OPPO R9s Plus that was launched in China. Now, the latest leaks suggest the company to soon launch the successor to the OPPO R9 and R9s smartphones. This new device will be called as OPPO R11 since the company skips the even numbers while naming its devices. Earlier to this, the company launched the OPPO R5, R7, and R9 smartphones.
Even the OPPO F3 Plus is the successor to the OPPO F1 Plus. The upcoming OPPO R11 will also sport dual cameras, but this time, they are placed on the rear of the device. However, there is no information about the implementation of the 5X camera technology that was announced at the Mobile World Congress 2017 event held in Barcelona last month. This new camera technology uses the periscope style dual-cameras to offer 5X lossless zoom. Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus offers 2X lossless zoom using its dual camera lens.
Since no timeframe is mentioned for the availability of this new technology, we aren’t sure that the OPPO R11 will be using the periscope style dual cameras. Last year, the company launched the OPPO R9 and R9 Plus smartphones in China on March 17th. Now, the OPPO R11 along with R11 Plus can be expected to launch in the next couple of months. The OPPO R9 is the same OPPO F1 Plus that was launched outside of China. While the OPPO F3 Plus came with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow based ColorOS, we hope to see the OPPO R11 devices to run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
Though the authenticity of the leaked image is very low, the design looks similar to the OPPO R9s and R9s Plus with metal body and six-string antenna lines. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 660 (MSM8976 Pro) octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. It is built on the 14nm FinFET processor and uses the custom Kryo cores as seen on the Snapdragon 835 SoC. The earlier leaks suggested this processor to be available from Q2 2016, and the OPPO R11 and R11 Plus will be one of the first devices to use this processor.
