Micromax Bharat 2 VoLTE Smartphone to Launch at Rs. 2,999 – Everything You Need to Know
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
A few weeks back, we exclusively reported about the launch of new Bharath series from Micromax. With the Bharat series, the company is offering VoLTE enabled mobile phones at very affordable price. The Bharat 1 (X1i) and Bharath 2 (Q402) are first set of devices to launch under this new series. While the Bharath 1 is a VoLTE feature phone priced at just Rs. 1,999; the Bharath 2 is an Android powered smartphone and also supports VoLTE connectivity. It costs just Rs. 2,999 and will go on sale in the next few days. Unlike the other affordable 4G VoLTE smartphones which are just limited to online stores, the Bharat 2 will also be sold through retail outlets.
The device comes with a polycarbonate body and comes with a textured finish on the back. On the front is a 4-inch display with WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) resolution and has thick bezels all around the screen. Much like any other ultra-cheap VoLTE smartphone, the Bharat 2 is also powered by the Spreadtrum SC9832 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. At such a low price, the device packs just 512MB of RAM, out of which half of the capacity will be occupied by the OS and UI. Coming to the storage, there is 4GB of internal storage and the available storage will be much lesser, but the user can further expand it up to 32GB using the MicroSD card.
It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, and we don’t expect the company to roll out any OTA updates for this device. On the camera front, there is a 2MP rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3MP front camera for selfies. Interestingly, the camera app offers burst and manual modes while capturing with the rear camera. It is backed by a 1,300mAh removable battery that might not give more a day long battery life even with its basic specifications. The Bharat 2 supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE for using the Jio 4G SIM. Even Jio itself sells LYF branded VoLTE smartphones starting from Rs. 2,999.
The volume rocker and the power button are placed on the right edge of the device. On the bottom rear of the Bharat 2 smartphone, we can find the loudspeaker. Connectivity options include 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM Radio, 3.5 Audio port, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. For Rs. 2,999 price tag, Micromax is offering a basic VoLTE smartphone and we can’t expect anything more. While the LYF smartphones from Reliance Jio comes with two years of manufacturer warranty, the Bharat 2 has the standard 12 months warranty. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar to know about the availability of Bharat 2 VoLTE smartphone.
