The 2017 flagship smartphones from the major manufacturer are yet to be launched. But, we got few new limited edition variants of the previous flagships from Apple and OnePlus. A new smartphone with thermal imaging sensor is also launched in India with a premium price tag. However, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus launching on March 29th comes packed with lots of new features and are surely going to be a great successor to the popular Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. Product RED iPhone 7 & iPhone 7 Plus

Apple launched the new 9.7-inch iPad replacing the iPad Air 2. Along with it, the company also unveiled the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in all new red color. The limited edition Product RED iPhone 7 & iPhone 7 Plus are launched in collaboration with Red, the largest private sector donor to the Global Fund that fights against the AIDS. The Product RED iPhones come only in 128GB and 256GB storage variants and are already on sale in U.S and other Western markets. Both these red color iPhones will be available in India in April and pricing starts from Rs. 82,000. The red color joins the few other color options of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus including the jet black, black, silver, gold and rose gold. Though the Aluminum body is in red color, the front panel comes in white. Apple also launched the silicone and leather cases for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in few new colors. The silicone case will now come in azure, camellia, and pebble colors, and the leather case will be available in taupe, sapphire, and berry color options. The pricing of these new cases starts from Rs. 2,900.

OPPO F3 Plus

While the leaks suggested OPPO to launch both the OPPO F3 and F3 Plus smartphones, the company came out with only the F3 Plus. The OPPO F3 Plus is the same OPPO R9s Plus that was already launched in China, except the new dual selfie cameras. It comes with a 16MP + 8MP dual cameras on the front and competes with the Vivo V5 Plus that features 20MP + 8MP setup. The F3 Plus is priced at Rs. 30,990 and sports an all-metal unibody design with very slim six-string antennas. It comes with a huge 6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The device also packs Snapdragon 653 SoC, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. On the rear is a 16MP camera with f/1.7 aperture and dual PDAF focusing technology. The 16MP & 8MP front sensors can capture selfies in 120-degree wide-angle view. There is also a 4,000mAh battery with VOOC fast charging technology. On the front is a physical home button with an integrated fingerprint sensor. It supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE and other basic connectivity features.

Oneplus 3T Midnight Black

OnePlus 3T is the upgraded variant of the OnePlus 3, and both the devices look similar from outside. The OnePlus 3 was launched in Graphite and Soft Gold colors, whereas the OnePlus 3T came in Gunmetal and Soft Gold colors. Last week, the company launched the OnePlus 3T colette edition that comes in all-black color. It was limited to just 250 units and was on sale for only a day at the colette’s pop-up store in Paris. Later, the company launched the same OnePlus 3T colette edition as the limited edition OnePlus Plus 3T Midnight Black without the colette logo on the rear. The new OnePlus 3T in Midnight Black comes only in 128GB storage variant and is priced at Rs. 34,999. The device will be on sale from March 31st through Amazon India and OnePlus’s online and offline store. Apart from the change in color, rest of the device remains same. It comes with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display and is powered by Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor. There are 16MP sensors on front and back fo the device. It is kept powered on by a 3,400mAh and supports fast charging with the in-house Dash Charge technology that offers 5V/4A output.

CAT S60

The UK-based Bullitt Group made an agreement with the Caterpillar to launch the CAT branded smartphones. The CAT S60 is the company’s high-end rugged smartphone which was first showcased at the MWC event in 2016. Almost a year after unveiling the device, the company launched the CAT S60 in the Indian market. It is priced at Rs. 64,999 and is sold through Amazon Indian and offline outlets. Unlike the regular smartphone, it comes with a rugged body and is mainly targetted towards the B2B and outdoor active segments. It sports a military grade rugged body and is both waterproof and dustproof. On the rear is an FLIR thermal imaging sensor that can be used for various activities like detecting heat loss, missing insulation and many more. It can also find the temperature of any object from a distance of up to 50 to 100 feet. The CAT S60 sports a 4.7-inch display with HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels) and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on top. At such a premium price, the device comes powered by 1.5GHz Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
