Top 8 Samsung Galaxy S8 Features that will Make you Buy this Smartphone

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Samsung has finally launched Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus smartphones today at the Unpacked event in New York City. We pretty much knew everything about these devices. However, if for some reason you missed the rumors and leaks or if you are still wondering if you want to spend that much money and buy them, then here are a few reasons which we have listed below that will make you want to go crazy on them and buy one right away! Do make a note that the features listed below are in no particular order.

Design

We all know what we are dealing with when it comes to Samsung design these days, i.e. the Glass back and metal sides, however, this year, the magic is all on the front. We have a unique near bezel-less approach here from Samsung for the Galaxy S8. As you can see, on the front, we mostly just have the big and beautiful display. At the back, we have the same glass back, and on the sides, we have the metal which gives it a premium feel that we are used to from the previous flagship offerings from the company. The back of the device may remind you of the Note 7 from last year, but hey, this won’t explode like the other guy.

Infinity Display

The Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus are all about that display, and the company is calling it by a name, and it is the ‘Infinity Display.’ Staying true to the name, the display certainly does look like it is infinite as it melts over to the sides with those edges. Even on the front, the bezels are so minimal that most people won’t even notice their presence. All the colors play nice with the display, but we recommend you getting the Black one to get a full experience with that AMOLED display.

Camera

The cameras are designed to capture the moments you love quickly and beautifully right? And the Galaxy S8 will definitely not disappoint you with this. It builds upon what the Galaxy S7 offered and makes it even better. On the front also we now have an 8MP selfie camera with autofocus to up your selfie game as well.

Bixby

For all the virtual Assistant enthusiasts out there, Samsung is trying to win the industry with its own Virtual Assistant called the Bixby. Unlike Siri or Google Assistant, this is not your everyday assistant to tell you to take an umbrella or pick up groceries, but on the other hand, it will help you get the most out of your smartphone. Bixby will help you by guiding with all the apps and how to use them. It can also perform tasks for you once you inside a Bixby compatible app.

Bixby has a lot of different options and it depending on what you are looking to do, Bixby can help you with things like image search, reminders, etc.

Iris Scanner

Now coming to the security side of things, we have a bunch of different options to go with. The newest addition to the Galaxy S family is, however, the Iris scanner. First debuted with the Note 7, the Iris scanner will you unlock your smartphone and also help you by authenticating your secure folder, etc. This might not be as efficient as you would like it to be since it is not has matured yet as a feature but it certainly will get better over time with updates.

Facial Recognition

Apart from the Iris scanning feature, Samsung is also including a facial recognition feature this time around with the S8 that will allow you use it as yet another option to unlock your device or access the secure folder. This again might not a must have feature but it is definitely good to have them. Also, do make a note that the standard fingerprint scanner will also be available with this one.

Samsung Pay

Mobile payments are slowly becoming mainstream having Samsung Pay on the go for mobile payment is as good as it gets. Samsung Pay can be used with all the traditional card machines and you should be good to go. This is definitely the future and certainly a one which you don’t want to miss out on.

Samsung Dex & other accessories

The whole user experience of the Galaxy smartphones gets a whole lot better with the connected accessories that you tag it along with. With the Samsung Galaxy S8, the company has announced a new accessory called the Samsung Dex which will allow you to seamlessly connect your device and turn it into a working computer to get things done even efficiently. The Dex will be sold as a separate accessory.

Also, along with the Samsung Dex, you can buy some of the other accessories as well like the new Gear 360 which will now allow you to live stream directly to your social media. There are a ton of the other accessories that will be available and we will cover them at a later time and hence be sure to stay tuned for more.

Having said that, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus are two of the most beautiful and functional devices that Samsung has ever made and we hope that they price it well so that most people get to use and experience them and take advantage of them.
