Samsung Galaxy S8 & S8 Plus Smartphones Listed on TENAA Ahead of Official Launch

Samsung is all set to unveil the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus smartphones later today in London. While the company started teasing the features of the device, the leaks already revealed most of the key information about both the variants. Now, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus smartphones are listed on TENAA, China’s equivalent to the FCC in the U.S. Though the information from this website can’t be confirmed as official, but listing reveals accurate specifications of the devices along with device photos. Earlier, we got most of the details about the Chinese smartphones from this same website and even the first look for few of the devices.

Talking about the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, these device listing misses the device photos, and only a couple of specifications are revealed. The Samsung Galaxy S8 that comes with the model number SM-G9500 comes with a 5.8-inch display or just 5.6-inch considering the rounded corners.On the other hand, the Galaxy S8 Plus with the model number SM-G9550 sports a 6.2-inch display assuming rectangular edges or 6.1-inch with the rounded corners. As seen with the LG G6, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus comes with very thin bezels on all the sides and comes with rounded edges instead of sharp edges on all the four corners.

According to the listing, both the devices come with dual SIM dual standby feature. The Galaxy S8 measures 148.9×68.1×8.0 mm whereas the Galaxy S8 Plus with a  bigger display measures 159.5×73.4×8.1 mm. For comparison, the last year’s Galaxy S7 Edge with a 5.5-inch display and dual curved edges measure 150.9 x 72.6 x 7.7 mm. As Per the earlier leaks, the Chinese market gets the 6GB RAM variants of Galaxy S8 devices while the other markets will get only 4GB RAM variants. As teased by the company, the device will be water and dust resistance. There is no physical home button on this devices, and the fingerprint is placed on the rear.

Depending on the markets, the devices will be powered Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC & in-house Exynos 8895 SoC. The recently announced Bixby digital assistant will come as a built-in feature. In the camera department, we might see a 12MP dual pixel camera and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. The IRIS scanner that was introduced with the Galaxy Note 7 will also be featured on the Galaxy S8 devices. Samsung continues to use the glass back body and also offers wireless charging.  The latest rumors suggest the rear camera on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 to capture 3D photos and videos.

Since there is no physical home button, the devices are said to feature pressure sensitive virtual home button on the bottom of the infinity display. Take these rumors with a pinch of salt and wait for few more hours to know the official details of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus smartphones including its full specifications, pricing, and availability.
