Moto G5 with 5″ Full HD Display & Metal Body Confirmed to Launch in India Soon
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
At the Mobile World Congress event held in February this year, Lenovo launched the new Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smartphone. Both these devices will be the successors to Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus, the popular budget smartphones of 2016. Earlier this month, the company launched the Moto G5 Plus in India in two variants. The 3GB RAM variant with 16GB storage is priced at Rs. 14,999, whereas the 4GB RAM variant with 32GB storage costs Rs. 16,999. Though the pricing is slightly on the higher side when compared with its successor, the device offers much better value with its metal built body and superior specifications.
During the Moto G5 Plus launch, the company skipped launching its younger sibling, Moto G5. Today, the company started teasing the launch of Moto G5 in India via its Twitter handle. On the design front, the Moto G5 looks similar to the Moto G5 Plus, but comes in a smaller form factor with a 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display. It is powered by Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 505 GPU to look after the graphics part. We expect the device come in 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage. Lenovo also offers MicroSD card slot that helps in further expansion of storage up to 128GB.

In the camera department, there is a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and a 5MP front camera with wide-angle lens. The Moto G5 also comes with nano coating which means the device is at least splashproof. While the fingerprint is missing on the Moto G4, the Moto G5 share the same feature with the Moto G5 Plus. It is backed by a 2,800mAh battery which is slightly smaller than the 3,000mAh battery on the Moto G5 Plus. It only 10W fast charging which is common on most of the latest smartphones. The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers VoLTE for making HD voice calls.
Connectivity options on this dual SIM include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS. It measures 144.3 x 73 x 9.5 mm and weighs 145 grams.
