You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

The sale of Android tablets from most of the major manufacturers are going down, but Datawind tablets with ultra low price tag made great sales. Though the devices come with low-power specifications, the large screen phablets are the best devices for media consumption. Now the Canada-based manufacturer launched a new phablet called MoreGMax 3G6 in India. It is priced at just Rs. 5,999 and comes with basic specifications. However, it doesn’t support 4G LTE and can’t be used with Jio 4G SIM. The user can additionally purchase the JioFi Mi-Fi device for Rs. 1,999 to access the Jio 4G services.

Commenting on the launch, Suneet Singh Tuli, President & CEO of DataWind, said,

We at DataWind want to cater to the forgotten billion, those that have been left out of the growth and prosperity that India is witnessing. By empowering them with connectivity to billions of pages of website, we give them the opportunity to take advantage of both educational content and also commerce.

Just like the other budget devices, the MoreGMax 3G6 also comes with plastic built body. It comes with a large 6-inch capacitive display with gesture support, The phablet comes powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage. With the MicroSD card slot, the user can further expand the storage upto additional 32GB. There is also an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP selfie camera on the front. Connectivity options include 3G HSPA, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. It runs on Android OS and we don’t expect the company to release software updates for their devices.

The phablet will be manufactured in India at the companies Hyderabad plant. Along with the MoreGMax 3G6 Phablet, Datawind is also offering 12 months of internet for free. The company has earlier collaborated with Reliance Communication for offering free internet for its users. Even the earlier launched Pockersurfer smartphones also came with the similar offer. The users can access this free internet only with the Datawind’s patented UbiSurfer browser that compromises the web pages to offer fast web experience even on the slow internet connections.
