Asus Zenfone AR Launching in India on July 13th with Tango and Daydream Support

We have been hearing about the Asus Zenfone AR from quite a time now, and Asus has decided to launch the device in India on 13th of July which is compatible with Tango AR as well as Google’s Daydream VR platform. This device was announced as the first smartphone to come with 8GB of RAM, and recently OnePlus has launched its flagship device OnePlus 5 with 8GB RAM making it the first smartphone with 8GB RAM to go on sale in the country.

The Asus Zenfone AR will come with a new immersive five-magnet speaker which supports High-Res Audio and DTS virtual surround sound. The catching point here is the camera of the device that has 23MP Sony IMX318 sensor with motion tracking camera and also senses depth that supports Tango’s AR capabilities. The device will come in a Black color variant, and the pricing of this beast will be at the launch event.

Coming to the specification of this Zenfone AR, the handset will sport a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top. Under the hood, the is a 2.3GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 821 processor coupled with 6GB / 8GB of RAM and Adreno 530 GPU. The storage of the device varies with 64GB / 128 GB and 256 GB options which can also be extended further with a microSD card.

The device will come with Android Nougat 7.0 operating system and supports Hybrid dual SIM. There is an 8MP selfie camera and as mentioned there is a 23MP main camera with dual-tone LED Flash with f/2.0 aperture, 6p Largan lens, 4-axis OIS, 3-axis EIS and Laser autofocus. There is a fingerprint sensor for providing secured transactions and secured data. On the back, to power the device there is a 3300mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.

Nothing about the pricing is mentioned yet, but we will get to know about it at the launch event. It will be interesting to see how Asus will price this beast and it might soon start sending invites to the launch event. What do you think about this device?
