After several leaks and rumors, LG has officially unveiled the new Q series by launching the LG Q6+, Q6, and Q6a smartphones. With the Q-series, the company will be offering FullVision displays even with the mid-range devices. At the MWC 2017, LG launched the flagship LG G6 smartphone with 5.7-inch QuadHD+ ( 2880 x 1440 pixels) FullVision display offering 18:9 aspect ratio and HDR10 support. Now, the new LG Q-series smartphones feature a 5.5-inch FullHD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) FullVision display with the same 18:9 aspect ratio. Apart from the different RAM and storage options, all the three variants come with the same design and same specifications.
As seen on the LG G6, the display on the LG Q6 smartphones also come with curved corners and has minimal bezels. The device sports an Aluminium frame with the volume rocker, MicroSD card slot and Dual SIM card slot on the left edge and power button alone sits on the right edge. Talking about the other specifications, the devices are powered by the 64-bit Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. As the name suggests, the LG Q6+ is the powerful device among the lot with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. On the other hand, the LG Q6 and Q6a come with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 2GB RAM + 16GB storage respectively.
The devices run on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with the LG UX 6.0 UI on top. In the camera department, all the three LG Q6 smartphones pack a 13MP primary shooter on the rear with LED flash and an 8MP selfie shooter on the front with the wide-angle lens. Interestingly, the devices lack the fingerprint sensor, but the company is offering ‘Face Recognition’ to make the device secure. With all these specifications, the devices are kept powered on by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery. The devices measure 142.5 x 69.3 x 8.1 mm and weighs 149 grams. The Google Assistant will also be available on these devices.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-B 2.0 port. The pricing of all the three devices is yet to be announced.
