Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Smartphone Now Comes With 6GB RAM & 64GB Storage
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Back in October last year, Xiaomi launched the Mi Note 2 smartphone as the successor to the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro. At the same launch event, the company also unveiled the Mi MIX bezel-less smartphone. While the Mi MIX came with 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 256GB variants, the Mi Note 2 was made available in 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB variants. From the last few days, the company is teasing about a new 6GB RAM smartphone. While everyone expected the launch of the rumored X-series smartphone, Xiaomi came up with a new variant of Mi Note 2 with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Talking about the pricing, the new 6GB RAM variant is priced at 2899 Yuan. However, the company is offering 300 Yuan discount on the new variant during its initial sale bringing the final price to 2599 Yuan (approx $380 / Rs. 24,500). Interestingly, the earlier launched variant with 2GB lesser RAM is still retailing at 2799 Yuan (approx $410 / Rs. 26,500). The device should be still running on the years old Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI. It features a metal frame with a 3D curved glass on the front and rear of the device. It sports a 5.7-inch AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution.
The device is powered by Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor clocked at 2.35GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. It is backed by a 4,070mAh non-removable battery that also supports QuickCharge 3.0 (9V/2A) for fast charging. The physical home button on the front also houses the fingerprint sensor that can be used authorizing mobile payments via Mi Pay. In the camera department, there is a 22.56MP Sony IMX318 sensor on the rear with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and EIS. On the front is an 8MP Sony IMX268 autofocus sensor with the f/2.0 aperture and 76-degree wide-angle view.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS, A-GPS, and USB Type-C. The Mi Note 2 offers virtual SIM support along with dual SIM dual standby. It measures 156.2 x 77.3 x 7.6 mm and weighs 166 grams. While the company is skipping the launch of high-end smartphones in the Indian market, we don’t even expect them to bring this new variant of the Mi Note 2. If you are interested in using this device without warranty, then you can purchase the Mi Note 2 through Chinese resellers who also offer free shipping.
