RED launches $1600 Hydrogen One Smartphone people are Blindly Pre-Ordering

Hydrogen One from RED will be the World’s First Holographic Media Machine that will let you enjoy 3D content without headset or glasses. This new smartphone will come with a 5.7-inch Professional Hydrogen Holographic display that features nanotechnology which will switch between traditional 2D content, 3D content, holographic multi-view content and games seamlessly both in portrait and landscape mode. Well, that’s not the end! This device lets the user view 2D/3D VR, AR and MR content without a wearable directly on the smartphone screen apart from the traditional 2D content. The biggest shocker is that this phone whose specs are not clear, not many photos available is already under pre-order and many consumers are pre-ordering it already.

There is an H3O algorithm embedded into the Operating system which will be converting stereo sound into expansive multi-dimensional audio. The Hydrogen One will be the foundation of a future multi-dimensional media system that includes a high-speed data bus for enabling a comprehensive and expanding modular component system that will include attachments in the future for capturing high quality motion and still images along with holographic images.

The Hydrogen One will integrate into the RED camera program, working with Scarlet EPIC and Weapon as UI and monitor. There is one Red channel to find all 4-view holographic content, and the user can also convert 3D content to .h4v and upload it, or you can directly create .h4v (Video files wherein the file extension can be used to encode and compress videos) files. There are chances of the design changes along with specs and delivery dates.

The order for this device can be placed today and will ship from first production batch. Along with this handset, the user will be getting a USB Type-C charger, a microSD card slot and will also be providing a small token for early orders. The device is targeted to ship in the first quarter of 2018 and will be available in Aluminum and Titanium color variant and expected to be priced at $1195 and $1595 respectively. The prices are not guaranteed to be the same at the time of release, and this excludes shipping and taxes. Addition accessories will be available at launch for extra charges.

The Hydrogen One is a full-featured phone which will operate on Android operating system and is also an unlocked device that supports multi-bands to provide support to different network operators across the world. We have to wait few more months for this handset to be released and it is also mentioned that the payments made now are fully refundable for any reason before shipping.
