Xiaomi Is Reportedly Planning on Launching A New Sub-Brand To Take On OPPO & Vivo
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is reportedly planning on launching a new sub-brand which would the company’s third sub-brand, that will join Mi and Redmi in the portfolio. Yes, according to the latest reports from China, it looks like the company will announce this sub-brand every soon and in fact, it looks like it already has a smartphone ready to be launched under this sub-brand.
According to the source, the company is planning on launching a new smartphone very soon under this new sub-brand. And not just that, we also have our first look (sort of) at the device as well. Taking a look at the image coming from the source, we can see a smartphone with a dual camera setup at the back. This resembles the newly launched OnePlus 5 for the most part. The camera sensors look identical and in fact, even the antenna bands run through the top, which again resembles the Apple iPhone 7.
Unfortunately, as of now, we have no info regarding the name which Xiaomi is planning to call it and so does the name of the smartphone in question. However, what we do know is that fact that Xiaomi is working on this new sub-brand to take on the highly popular OPPO and Vivo. Both OPPO and Vivo are BKK subsidiaries and they both have been doing an exceptional job in the offline market.
Xiaomi is a well-known brand in China when it comes to online sales, however, there is no denying that OPPO and Vivo are the champs when it comes to offline market as they both have built an amazing reputation when it comes to offline business. And now with this new sub-brand, it is expected that Xiaomi will hit the offline market very hard, giving a tough competition to other players. As far as the launch of this new device is concerned, it is rumored to arrive on the market by the end of this month, however, there is not a lot to speculate about it. We have no info if this will make it out of China to other markets like India, etc.
Having said that, we would like to know your thoughts on this. Would you be interested in buying this new smartphone from Xiaomi’s sub-brand, if it ever makes it to India?
