After being in the rumors from the last few months, Vivo has officially unveiled the high-end Vivo X20 and Vivo X20 Plus smartphones in China. On the design front, both these new devices look similar to the Vivo V7 Plus launched in India. Instead of the single rear camera, the new Vivo X20 and Vivo X20 Plus sports dual rear cameras. As seen on the Vivo V7 Plus, the new Vivo X20 & X20 Plus comes with a FullView display offering 18:9 aspect ratio. These two devices also feature Face Wake facial recognition technology for unlocking the device.
The smartphones come with a unibody metal design and the slight curve on the rear offers nice grip to hold. While the Vivo X20 sports a 6.01-inch Super AMOLED display, the X20 Plus comes with a slightly larger 6.43-inch Super AMOLED display. Both the displays offer Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The Vivo X20 and X20 Plus offers up to 85.3% & 86.11% screen-to-body ratio respectively. Under the hood is the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor that uses the custom Kryo 260 cores clocked up to 2.2GHz.
It comes coupled with Adreno 512 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The devices will be available in 64GB and 128GB storage options. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat based FunTouchOS 3.2 out of the box. Talking about the cameras, there is a 24MP + 5MP camera setup on the rear with LED flash and a 24MP single camera on the front for selfies. Only the dual rear cameras on the Vivo X20 Plus offers OIS for recording better videos. Both the device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE connectivity.
While the rumors suggested the company to introduce the underglass fingerprint sensor, the device actually comes with a rear-facing fingerprint sensor. It also supports mobile payment using the AliPay and WeChat. The Vivo X20 and X20 Plus will be available in Gold, Rose Gold, and Matte Black color options. While the Vivo X20 comes with an AK4376A audio chip for offering Hi-Fi sound output, the Vivo X20 Plus features ES9318 chip. The 64GB and 128GB storage variants of the Vivo X20 are priced at 2998 Yuan and 3398 Yuan respectively. On the other hand, the Vivo X20 Plus with 64GB storage costs 3498 Yuan.
