You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Apple has skipped the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus to directly launch the all-new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The company also launched the special edition iPhone X with an all-screen display. With these new iPhones, Apple has finally ditched the aluminum body in favor of glass body. The 2017 iPhones featuring glass-body will now support wireless charging. However, there is no fast wireless charging support as seen on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 smartphones. Along with the wireless charging support, Apple has finally introduced the fast charging support.

Yes, the new iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X will now support fast charging using the wired charger. On the Android side, all major manufacturers are offering the fast charging technology from quite a few years now. OPPO’s VOOC and OnePlus’s DashCharge have revolutionized the fast charging technology, both the brands are offering 5V/4A (20W) power adapters along with their smartphones. Even though the latest iPhones support fast charging, the company is including only the 5V/1A (5W) power adapter within the package.

Apple has mentioned the new iPhones can be charged from 0% to 50% in a just 30 minutes. As of now, there is no custom charger for the iPhones with fast charging supported. All you can do is get the MacBook’s power adapter with USB Type-C port and use lightning to USB-C cable to fast charge your iPhone. If you are looking to go with the most affordable option, get the 12″ Apple Macbook’s 29W USB-C power adapter and Lightning to USB Type-C cable of 1m length. In India, the Lightning to USB Type-C cable is available only on Infibeam and the pricing starts at Rs. 1,700.

On the other hand, the 29w USB-C power adapter from Apple is available for as low as Rs. 4,100 and is sold via Amazon India and Flipkart. So, if you are from India and looking to fast charge your new iPhone, then get these two additional accessories worth almost Rs. 6,000. If you have anyone of the 29W, 61W, and 87W USB Type-C power adapters, then you can get just the Lightning to USB Type-C cable to fast charge the new iPhones. For comparison, the DashCharge power adapter and 1m USB Type-C cable bundle for the OnePlus smartphones cost Rs. 1,843.
