Cherry Mobile Flare J3 with 5″ HD Display & Fingerprint Sensor Launched at $78

Cherry Mobile is the Philippines based affordable smartphone manufacturer. Last year, the company in partnership with Google launched the Cherry Mobile G1 smartphone under the Android One program. Along with the latest Nexus devices, the Cherry Mobile G1 is one of the few Android One smartphones that received the Android 7.0 Nougat update. Now the company has launched its latest budget smartphone called Cherry Mobile Flare J3. Though there is no official announcement, it is already available in the local offline store.

It is priced at PHP 3,699 (approx $78 / Rs. 5,200) and sports decent entry-level specifications. Even at such a low price, the device sports a fingerprint placed on the rear of the device. The plastic build device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with almost stock UI experience. It is a dual SIM dual standby device but lacks the 4G LTE connectivity. The Flare J3 sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution display. Under the hood is the unknown quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The device also packs 1GB of RAM along with 8GB of internal storage.

There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage upto 32GB. On the camera front, there is an 8MP autofocus rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera with fixed focus. It is backed by a 1,900mAh that might last at least for a day of normal usage. Connectivity options include 3G HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. In June this year, the company launched the high-end smartphone called Cherry Mobile M1 priced at PHP 11,999 ($250).

The M1 smartphone came with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and powerful Helio X20 deca-core processor. It includes 21MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, and 3,600mAh battery. The device also includes 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It also has a fingerprint sensor, NFC, and 4G LTE support.
