Coolpad’s Invite Confirms New Smartphone Launch on Sep 30th, might Sport 5GB RAM
Coolpad which is now partially owned by LeEco has launched few decent smartphones in the Indian market. The Coolpad Note 3 Lite with 3GB RAM is most affordable 3GB RAM smartphone at the time of its launch. In the first half of 2016, the company launched its flagship smartphone Coolpad Max with an all metal body priced at Rs. 24,999. But its is now available for just Rs.13,999 (limited time) under the anniversary sale.
Today the company has sent the media invite for the launch of a new smartphone on September 30th in New Delhi, India. The company is touting its upcoming smartphone as the ‘beast among the best.’ There is no information about the device, but we are expecting it to be launched as ‘Coolpad Beast.’ From the teaser images, we can confirm the device to be powered by Snapdragon chipset, if it’s really a true flagship unlike Coolpad Max which is powered by Snapdragon 617 SoC, then we might see a Snapdragon 820 SoC.
It comes with a metal body with a 2.5D glass laid on the front. The front facing camera will be assisted by a selfie flash for capturing selfies even in the low light conditions. On the rear, the device also sports a fingerprint sensor which makes it a bit more secure. The power button is placed on the right edge whereas the volume rocker can found on the left edge of the device. After seeing the teasers on the brand’s Twitter handle and the poll from the official Coolpad Forum, the upcoming smartphone might feature 5GB of RAM.
Till date I haven’t even seen a computer with 5GB RAM, but I guess we can go with for a 4GB RAM and 1GB RAM cards for the computer having two slots. I hope there won’t be any issue having 5GB RAM. If really Coolpad launched the smartphone with 5GB RAM, then it will be world’s first smartphone with 5GB RAM, though there are many smartphones with 6GB RAM available in the market like LeEco Le Max 2 and OnePlus 3. The Vivo XPlay 5 launched in China is the first smartphone to launch with 6GB RAM capacity.
