iBall Andi i9 Smartphone with Android 6.0 Marshmallow Launched for Rs. 4490
iBall Andi i9 is the latest addition to the entry level segment which is priced at Rs. 4490 via Amazon. iBall has been launching many devices in the budget friendly segment targeting the entry level market. Headquartered at Andheri Mumbai, India iBall is known for making computer peripherals, tablets, laptops, and smartphones. Recently the company has launched iBall Aasaan featured phone for elderly people that came with an SOS button which was priced at Rs. 2,999. Earlier iBall has released devices like iBall Slide Cuboid Tablet, iBall Andi 4G ARC 2 and iBall Andi 5.5U F2F.
Coming to the specifications of the device, the Andi i9 comes with a 5-inch FWVGA (480 x 854) display with a pixel density of 196 PPI. Under the hood, there is a Quad core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A7 SoC coupled with 1 GB RAM Mali 400MP GPU. The onboard memory of the device is at 8 GB that can be further extended up to 64 GB via microSD card. The device supports dual SIM but it is limited to 3G connectivity which is a con considering that even entry level devices are coming with 4G support. There is a 2000 mAh battery on the back to power the handset which is decent enough for an entry level device.
The iBall Andi i9 comes with a 5 MP camera on the rear with LED flash and also has features like Geotagging, Autofocus, HDR, Panorama and can record HD (720p) videos at 30fps. There is also a VGA camera on the front for video calling. The device comes out of the box with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but nothing has been mentioned about the further updates. The other connectivity options include Micro USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS GPRS and Bluetooth v4.0. There are sensors like G-Sensor, Accelerometer, and Proximity Sensor which help in automation of the handset.
