Panasonic India launched a new entry-level smartphone called Panasonic P77. It is priced at Rs. 7,290 and comes with very basic specifications compared to other devices at this price range. There are much better alternatives available in the market from Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Lenovo, and Coolpad. While Panasonic sells smartphones through offline markets, most of the Chinese brands are only limited to online stores. The device still runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and as of now, there is no information about the Android Marshmallow update.

It comes with polycarbonate shell which can be justified with its price tag. The Panasonic P77 sports a 5-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, it is powered by an unknown quad-core processor clocked at 1.0GHz. It includes 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage that can be further expanded upto only 32GB. The device measures 126 grams in weight and measures 7.6mm thickness. It supports Jio 4G SIM and the users can get the ‘Jio Welcome Offer’ with unlimited 4g data and voice calls free till December 31st.

Talking about the camera, it has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera. With all those basic specifications, the 2,000mAh battery can give at least a day of battery life. It is a dual SIM phone with dual standby support. The device offers connectivity options like4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. Recently, the Lenovo launched the Moto E3 Power at Rs. 7,999 exclusively on Flipkart. It packs 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage and is backed by a 3,500. With the Oleophobic coating, the device can withstand rain and water drops, but can’t be immersed under water like Moto G4 Play.

The Panasonic P55 which recently came with 3GB RAM also had a 2GB RAM variant priced at Rs. 7,288. Last month’s P55 Novo came with 3GB RAM and 5.3-inch HD display. It also had a 13MP rear camera with triple LED flash while the on the front is a 5MP selfie camera.
