Panasonic is about to launch a mid-range smartphone dubbed as the Panasonic Eluga Prim in India. With the circular home button and rounded corners, the front of device looks similar to latest iPhones. The device is priced at Rs. 9,790 and comes with an all metal body and a 2.5D glass on the front. Even with stiff competition from the Chinese smartphone brands, the Eluga Prim packs some decent hardware at this price range. Panasonic is also selling this smartphone through offline stores which give a wider reach to the Eluga Prim than the online exclusive devices.
As seen on Eluga Note, the brush metal finish on the back gives a distinct look to the Eluga Prim. The Eluga Prim sports a 5-inch IPS On-cell display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and is protected by Asahi Dragontrail protective glass on top. It is powered by an unspecified quad-core processor clocked at 1.25GHz. The device packs 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be further expandable additionally upto another 128GB. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the customized FitHome UI on top.
The device also supports dual SIM dual standby but supports 4G only one SIM at any given time. Talking about the cameras, there is a 13MP sensor on the back with triple LED flash, 5P lens, and f/2.0 aperture. On the front is a 5MP sensor for capturing images and making video calls. Though it comes with on-screen buttons, the circular home button on the front also support gestures for doing different tasks like opening recent apps, back, and home. With the embedded fingerprint sensor into the home button, the Eluga Prim also becomes a bit more secure.
The 2,500mAh non-removable battery on the Eluga Prim might not last more than a day of usage. Connectivity options include 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. It comes in Champagne Gold with White display panel and Grey color with Black display panel. Stay tuned on more updates!
