Lenovo Phab 2 with 6.4″ Display & 4,050mAh Battery to Launch Soon in India

In June this year, Lenovo unveiled the Phab 2, Phab 2 Plus, and Phab 2 Pro smartphones at the Lenovo Tech World event. While the Phab 2 Pro is Tango smartphones that Augmented Reality with three camera sensors on the rear. Now the company will soon launch the most affordable smartphone from the three, Phab 2 in the India. Though there is no exact launch date available, the device will be exclusively available through Flipkart and the listing says coming soon. At the time of the announcement in the U.S, it said to cost $199 which converts to Rs. 13,500 (approx). We expect the device to cost even lesser than that since the recently launched Phab 2 Plus with better specifications is retailing at Rs. 14,999 on Amazon India.
Talking about the specifications, the Lenovo Phab 2 comes with a large 6.4-inch IPS display with just HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. It is powered by MediaTek MT8735 octa-core processor clocked at 1.3Ghz and coupled with Mali T720 MP2 GPU. The variant announced at the tech World event came with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is also MicroSD card slot for storage expansion upto 256GB. On the camera front, there is a 13MP PDAF camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP selfie camera with wide-angle lens. It is backed by a 4,050mAh non-removable battery that makes the device to last for more than a day of usage.
It sports triple microphones with active noise cancellation feature. The device supports dual SIM dual standby with the hybrid SIM slot where the user can opt either for a secondary SIM or a MicroSD card. The device also offers 5.1 surround sound with Dolby Atmos support. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. On the other hand, the Phab 2 Plus priced at Rs. 14,999 comes with the same 6.4-inch display but with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. It is powered by a slightly better MediaTek MT8783 processor. The Phab 2 Plus has the same RAM, storage, and battery as on the Phab 2.
The USP of the Phab 2 Plus is its dual rear camera setup, as of now, it is the most affordable dual camera smartphone from a major a manufacturer in India. It sports two 13MP sensors on the back coupled with Fujitsu Milbeaut imaging processor that bring few features of the Augmented Reality (AR). On the front is an 8MP selfie camera with wide-angle lens. Compared to Phab 2, the Phab 2 Plus additionally comes with fingerprint sensor placed on the rear.
