Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 Leaked with Intel M Processor & 8GB RAM, to Launch on December 30th

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Xiaomi’s first ever Android tablet, Mi Pad is the most affordable tablet at that time to come with Nvidia Tegra K1 processor. Compared to other high-end tablets, it offered good value for money specifications. However, the second generation Xiaomi tablet, Mi Pad 2 was made available only in China. With the Mi Pad 2, the company shifted from plastic to metal built body and also used the Intex Atom X5 Z8500 quad-core processor. It was launched in two variants powered by Android OS based MIUI and also the Windows 10 OS. All these upgrades are made without any bump in the device price. But now the leaked images which are said to be from the Mi Pad 3 launch presentation revealed some top notch hardware.

Unlike the Mi Pad 2, the Mi Pad 3 comes with a doubled price tag which we feel can be justified considering the powerful specifications. On the front is a large 9.7-inch display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels compared to the 7.9-inch display on the original Mi ad and Mi Pad 2. One serious upgrade on this upcoming tablet is the use of Intel Core M3-7Y30 dual-core processor clocked at 2.6 GHz. The last year’s Apple Macbook with 12-inch display also came with the similar processor. It comes with an integrated Intel HD Graphics 615 GPU. The Mi Pad 3 features 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM which is four times higher than what the company offered on the last gen Mi Pad tablets.

It will be available in 128GB and 256GB eMMC storage options. From the images, we came to know about the tablet will be running on Windows OS and includes MS Office and Cortana. With the Xiaomi’s the closer relationship with Microsoft, we might not see the MIUI powered variant of the Mi Pad 3. With all these power hungry specifications, the tablet will be powered by an 8,290mAh non-removable battery. The images also mention the tablet to give 13.2 online video streaming and lasts upto 1,560 hours on standby mode. Xiaomi might also offer upgraded camera sensors on these tablets; it sports a 16MP rear camera with dual tone LED flash and an 8MP front selfie camera on the front.

With a larger display and bigger battery, the Mi Pad 3 measures 239.5 x 164.5 x 6.08 mm and weighs 380 grams. It lacks the SIM card slot for 4G connectivity, but the other connectivity options included on this tablet are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm Audio Port, and USB Type-C port. The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device while the stereo speaker can be found on either side of the USB Type-C port on the bottom edge. Coming to the pricing, the Mi Pad 3 is priced at 1999 Yuan for the 128GB variant and 2299 Yuan for the 256GB variant. There is also a keyboard accessory priced at just 99 Yuan which also includes a trackpad.

Since there is no official confirmation from the company, take these details with a pinch of salt. The same source also mentioned this tablet to launch officially on December 30th in China. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
